This handbook was created within the framework of the GREASE consortium which focuses on examining the relationship between radicalisation, secularism and the governance of religion. The main objective of the handbook is to outline good practices on resilience-building against violent religious radicalisation. It accomplishes this goal by combining practices from twelve in-depth case studies on violent religious radicalisation in countries in “the West” (Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, the UK), the MENA region (Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia), South and Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia) and countries with history of ethno-nationalist separatist struggles (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia). Based on shared practices, themes and commonalities across this range of country cases, the handbook outlines a common set of good practices. It illustrates these good practices though real examples from the country studies while it recognises that there is “no panacea to violent religiously-inspired radicalisation.” Although the handbook does not make claims that the good practices it identifies are the solution to violent religious radicalisation, such practices can provide valuable practical guidance and orientation to relevant stakeholders in designing resilience efforts. CSD contributed to the content of the handbook through results from the case study it conducted on good practices in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This compendium was created by the consortium members of the CEE Prevent Net initiative. Its development is the result of a robust exchange of good practice methods among various organizations and civil society actors in the areas of youth work and (non-formal) education aimed at preventing intolerance, discrimination, and right-wing populism and extremism in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. Initially, this volume was supposed to present 10 good practices for working with young people directly; however, the CEE Prevent Net network decided to expand this initial enterprise gratuitously. This additional section provides youth workers, educators, and other civic actors with recommendations and advocacy strategies for youth work that fosters tolerance, facilitates dialogue, and prevents discrimination and far right ideologies.

In September 2015, after more than three years of negotiations and intense involvement of several stakeholders, including the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), the member states of the United Nations adopted the post-2015 Development Agenda. Goals, Transforming our world: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This paper reflects on IFLA's key steps, importance and national advocacy to include access to information, universal literacy, public access to Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and cultural heritage in the UN 2030 Agenda. The paper also discusses the role of skills and practices of impact assessment in evidence gathering and advocacy processes on BŞ USARB's alignment with the UN 2030 Agenda.Relevant approaches, methods and tools for impact assessment of the Library's set of SDG activities are examined.

This report examines the parameters, functions and main characteristics of communication technologies that guarantee the quality of information services. Three communication technologies (ATM, MPLS and IP) are presented, a comparative analysis of the service quality parameter is performed and its influence on improving the management of the communication and information system is substantiated. The migration to a newer type of technology, supporting better functionality in terms of quality of services, would undoubtedly lead to an improvement of the overall process in the management of a communication-information system, which can be successfully applied in the military sphere as well.

The system for processing reflected signals presented in the report is applied in a short-range UAV radar designed for remote measurement of basic parameters of the target. In this SSHL radar, the “phase method” is chosen for the separation of signals from moving targets, because relative changes in the frequency of oscillations modulating the probing pulse and its duration when reflected from a moving target are very small, and their measurement for optimal operation of the SPC system by the PIKK method is practically very complicated. The report examines the operation of a system for processing SHL signals, which can be used in the synthesis of the SSPC of a radar for the detection of moving point and small-sized objects and the measurement of movement parameters after the application of the “phase method” to reduce the influence of passive interference, or the reflections from stationary objects and the underlying surface.

Quantum technology in security and defense is identified as a key emerging technology whose potential applications can allow to expand its capabilities. These technologies are getting closer to revolutionizing the world of innovation and could change the rules of security, including modern warfare. For any new innovative technology, it is necessary to set the right strategic approach. The NATO Quantum Strategy is the first strategic document approved by the NATO Foreign Ministers, as in January 2024. NATO published a summary of the document. The strategy outlines how quantum can be applied to defense and security, and helps promote and guide NATO‘s collaboration with industry to develop a transatlantic quantum technology ecosystem. Quantum technology is one of the technology areas that NATO Allies prioritize, and it is therefore necessary for all countries to develop a clear approach to development and deployment.

The global pharmaceutical supply chains continue to suffer from delays in production processes, resource shortages, lack of capacity, etc., initially caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and additionally complicated afterwards by a number of political and economic issues. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the level of adoption of sustainable supply chain models by the European pharmaceutical business. The research methods include induction, deduction and case studies. The results show that despite the challenges which the European pharmaceutical companies have faced, they successfully reach their sustainable development goals and as one of the spheres with highest levels of innovations, they are expected to be well prepared and less vulnerable in a case of future turbulent events.

The paper deals with humanity’s transition from the machine-centered information-based Society 4.0 to the human-centered “super smart society” Society 5.0 and the impact the new society will have on the Japanese business. Society 5.0 integrates the physical and the virtual space using innovations such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, virtual and augmented reality. Its aim is to alleviate problems related to scarcity of resources, inequality, problems of demographic origin, challenges faced by small businesses. Japan is the country considered to be spearheading humanity’s technological progress, therefore it will also be expected to shoulder the brunt of the challenges of Society 5.0 such as politics, technological integration, and business acclamation.

This study conducts a comprehensive impact assessment of the European Union’s budget expenditure dedicated to mobility for education programs in Bulgaria from the year 2000 to 2025. Mobility for education initiatives, such as the Erasmus+ program, have been vital in fostering educational exchanges, enhancing skills, and promoting cross-cultural understanding within the European Union. Bulgaria, as a member state, has benefited from these initiatives, but the extent and nature of these benefits require rigorous evaluation. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating both quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. It scrutinizes the financial allocations, disbursements, and utilization of EU funds for education mobility in Bulgaria over the specified period. Additionally, the study delves into the impact of mobility programs on student and academic mobility, educational quality enhancement, and broader socio-economic effects.
