Summary/Abstract: Constantin Dascălu was a history teacher and an important Romanian archaeologist. He is known in Romanian archeology mainly, due to his participation, as a representative of the Romanian state, in the archeological excavation campaign in Cucuteni, undertaken by the German archaeologist Hubert Schmidt, in 1910. He participated as a reserve officer in the War for Integration Romania with the 54th Infantry Regiment from Roman, the reserve of the 14th Dorobanti Regiment. The correspondence sent to the family on the front by the professor and archaeologist Constantin Dascălu as a reserve officer, is an important source of documentation on the dramatic realities of the war. For his deeds of bravery on the battlefield, he was decorated with numerous military orders and medals.
