Summary/Abstract: Ioan Dăscălescu was born in September 17th, 1885 in a village called Schineni, in Săucești commune, from Bacău county. He graduated „The Military School of Infantry Officers” in Bucharest with the second lieutenant rank and he was assigned under the High Decree no. 2097 from the 1st of July 1909 at the 27 Regiment Infantry Bacău. The 27 Regiment Infantry Bacău was established in the 5th of April 1880 and it had the garrison in Bacău county. For the heroism proved in the fights from the 1917 campaign from Oituz, the flag of the Regiment 27 Infantry Bacău was decorated with the „Mihai Viteazul” order, 3rd class, under the High Decree no. 4351 from 22nd October 1920. Ioan Dăscălescu had participated at the 2nd Balcanic War (1913) and at the War for the Unification of Romania (1916-1919) and he had been decorated with the „Romanian Crown” order, with sabers having an officer degree and a „Military Virtue” ribbon. Between the 1st of April 1936 and the 4th of April 1938, Col. Ioan Dăscălescu became commander of the 14th Regiment Dorobanți Roman, a unit that had been in the command of the 7th Infantry Division.
