Summary/Abstract: The structure of higher education institutions in developed countries is usually defined by the student profile they have. For this purpose, the number of pre-bachelor's, bachelor's, master's and doctoral students is important and the teaching structures of universities are defined according to the proportional sizes of these numbers. In this study, the teaching structures of 10 (ten) main research universities and 5 (five) candidate research universities announced by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in 2018 were examined using parameters that make sense in the international literature and a ranking was made between the universities in this field. The results of the study have shown that there are considerable differences between the selected universities in terms of teaching structure and it has been seen that a candidate research university has a more appropriate teaching structure than some of the main universities. Recent re-organization in some universities (such as Istanbul, Ankara, Gazi) have led to positive effects on the teaching structures of the relevant universities.
