Summary/Abstract: State universities constitute the most important part of the higher education system in our country. However, especially after the 2000s, Fondation (non-profit private) universities have also reached an considerable share in the system. Currently, there are 78 fondation universities in our country, and their share in the system on a student-by-student basis is about 10%. These universities are rightly and unfairly criticized on various issues in the public opinion, and assessments on the topic are included in a very wide range. In this study, the Fondation universities that have passed 10 years since the establishment are evaluated on the basis of their student profiles and the evaluation is presented in the form of a comparative analysis. The results of the study have shown that 20% of the 20 universities evaluated are at the level of research universities defined in 2018 in our country, and even some universities are in a much better position. In this context, 20% of the universities evaluated have an associate degree-based teaching structure.
