Summary/Abstract: Until 2010 one could see on the eastern wall of the closed porch of the Putna Monastery Church a painting that guarded the entrance to the narthex. After 2000, with the decision to paint the interior of the church and establish the iconographic program, it was requested to detach the mural from the porch in order to make way for the ample scene of the Last Judgment. The specialized commission that met to discuss this request supported the preservation of this painting, but it encountered an unshakable will, achieving only the promise assumed in a report that this painting will be transferred on mobile supports immediately after the extraction and exhibited in a protected setting. Thus, it will be part of the collection of the works of art of putna Monastery. In 2010, after going through a preliminary stage of research and restoration of the mural painting, this painting was detached using the "stacco" method, resulting in 7 fragments of mural painting that were stored in a workshop of the monastery until, at that time, the near moment of transfer. Until now, the fragments have not been transferred.
