New pact on migration and asylum

Summary/Abstract: In October 2020. The European Commission adopted the long-awaited new Pact on Migration and Asylum, continuing the migration policy reforms initiated in response to the 2015-2016 migration crisis. The new Pact consists of a series of legislative proposals, addressing issues such as border control, asylum, integration, border management, strengthening governance at Union level, adopting a new solidarity mechanism and developing legal migration routes.
