Summary/Abstract: The article emphasizes from an interlingual perspective the importance of fixed expressions and thus of collocations, aiming, on the one hand, to point out the relevance of formulaic expressions for text constitution and communication, on the other hand, to point out the importance of the continuous inclusion of collocations in foreign language teaching. Collocations are language-specific, so the correct formulation of subject-related collocations also plays a role in foreign-language text production. The comparison of German and Romanian shows that the collocator often has a concrete or specified meaning in both languages and that the collocation base determines the equivalent of the collocator in the target language.
