Summary/Abstract: Digitalization is a current concept in the foreign language lessons. The development of digital media in the classroom became a challenge for teachers, whereby one can also encounter obstacles. This study examines the use of films, which are an audiovisual media element, in foreign language classes. The use of films can increase learning motivation, can reveal feelings, and prepare the ground for speaking and discussion activities. This study introduces some principles and experiences, which consider integration, effectiveness and importance of digital media in formal and informal teaching and learning contexts as well as for educational processes. With digital media, the learning process can be improved and made more attractive, which implies suitable pedagogical concepts. In this way the knowledge and skills of the learners can be built up.
