Summary/Abstract: Learning a foreign language means developing different skills (especially speaking). That can beachieved using different language teaching methods and concepts. The most popular teaching methods areThe Direct Method (teaching grammar by using an inductive approach, using only the target language),Grammar-translation (focuses on enabling students to read and translate literature written in the sourcelanguage), Audio-lingual (based on behaviorist theory: learning a language means acquiring habits),Communicative language teaching (focuses on enabling the learner to communicate effectively andappropriately in the various situations). One of the most dynamic approaches to teaching is the Projectlearning, also known as project-based learning, in which students simultaneously develop cross-curriculumskills while working in small collaborative groups. This method is an attractive way to teach and learn.Students are active and engaged, they develop confidence and self-direction and the knowledge gainedthrough this approach are far more readily than through traditional textbook-centered learning.
