Summary/Abstract: The universality of addictions poses a challenge for psychologists, psychiatrists, educators and specialists working to cure the addicts. One of the concepts attempting to explain the phenomenon of addiction and to create the best therapeutic and curative methods is the therapeutic community. In order to test its effectiveness a study was carried out in the "Monar" Centre in Sokolniki. Participants were 42 former patients and 9 employees of the Centre.
