Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to assess the role of foster families in the process of socialization of a child in the opinion of foster parents from Piotrków Trybunalski and employees of the County Family Assistance Center in Piotrków Trybunalski. The article discusses such issues as: functions of the foster family in the process of child’s socialization, factors influencing this process, main difficulties related to socialization in the foster family and actions taken by foster parents and employees of the County Family Assistance Center in Piotrków Trybunalski to facilitate the child’s socialization process
