Summary/Abstract: The paper looks at the question of eurobonds (stability bonds), i.e. government bonds issued in Euros jointly by the eurozone member states as a way to tackle the European sovereign debt crisis. First, the author covers the legal framework and pre-conditions. Next, the various proposals for issuance of bonds are discussed (European Stability Mechanism’s bonds, stability bonds, debt redemption fund and project bonds).
