Summary/Abstract: An integral part of the new circular economic model is eco-design, focused on reducing the product’s adverse effects throughout its life cycle. Its successful implementation is a current challenge for companies to implement essential changes in business processes. On the other hand, changes in environmental awareness and consumer behavior and increasing environmental responsibility are also driving companies. In this context, the paper aims at researching selected aspects of the eco-design implementation in industrial companies in Slovakia, the implementation of related activities, the perception of barriers, or expected benefits to its implementation. The selected results of the primary research from March 2021 are presented, focused on the opinions of 75 companies´ representatives in Slovakia on the issue of eco-design.
