If This Is the Future, What Is our Plan?

Summary/Abstract: When the past is rigid, and the present is unsettled, all we’ve got is the future. Everything that we did not do in the past, what we are not able to do at present, we’ll do in the future: tomorrow, next year, when we grow up, or when we grow old…there is still time. We make plans. Although some say that the future is unpredictable, we believe that if you rely on evidence-based predictions you are more likely to succeed. That is why we designed a two-step approach. In the first stage we focused on information gathering and analysis of the most important megatrends, challenges, and opportunities for the foreseeable future, while in the second stage we tried to identify the most important knowledge, skills and values that would help present and future professionals face the technological, social and ethical challenges of the future.
