Summary/Abstract: The paper realizes an evaluation of Blockchain-based reputation systems used in education and research, starting from the definition of reputation in different contexts, then justifying the advantages of using the Blockchain technology for implementing reputation systems. A number of criteria are proposed for analyzing Blockchain-based reputation systems, selected from a review of literature presenting such projects. The results of the evaluation are used to fundament and conceive the design and implementation of a reputation research network, called EERIS - European Research Infrastructures System, which are presented in the second part of the article. The conclusions could be used for researchers focusing on different Blockchain educational use-cases, and also for those designing reputation systems for educational actors and entities.
