Emil Satco (1941–2007) – 80 Years from Birth. The Man, the Researcher, the Historian

Summary/Abstract: The following article evokes the personality of a scientist who has made his mark on contemporary cultural life of Bukovina. His inheritance, consisting in reference works about Bukovina, is to be found in the shelves of many libraries in the country and abroad. Author of the first and only Encyclopaedia of Bukovina, Emil Satco was a historian, bibliographer, publicist and researcher. Through his work, he earned a well deserved place among the intellectuals who have essentially contributed to the restitution of the local cultural heritage.
