Summary/Abstract: The subject of our research represents two forgotten travel writings about Romania, left to us by means of the creative pen of Serbian ambassadors and pervious, as well as tributary to imaginary analysis, so far under–studied literary work, created over a century ago: Recollections about Romania (1904/1905) by Dragutin Ilić and Wandering through lands, pictures roads (1900), by Milan Savić. Genre indicators such as “memories”, “images from the road”, “wandering through lands” convey the author’s expression of Creatorship, the cultural and sociological values that shape these travel narratives into significant ethnographic and travel studies. There is a visible parallelism when it comes to the thematic aspect of the travelogue, the dissemination of ethnic images, autobiography, publicistic expression, the pursuit of the documentary aspect and the creation of a record of what has been seen but through the personal artistic experience of real life. In Serbian literary historiography, both works (both authors) have remained disparaged, onto the margins of literary history and suppressed for a long time, not being given their rightful place and awarded the cultural value they deserve, which may be one of the reasons why they are unknown in the Romanian cultural space.
