Problems of education and teacher training in Poland – towards professionalisation of the profession

Summary/Abstract: The article presents a general analysis of the problems concerning education and teacher training in Poland. The aim of the paper is to discuss the main concepts and solutions used in education and teacher training, taking into account continuity and the uniqueness of professional formation and supporting teachers in their development. The author focuses also on the analysis of the process of education and teacher training in the perspective of the development of their professionalism and professional pragmatics. The solutions in teacher training, used in some countries that educate the best teachers in the 21st century, are shown. In this context, recommendations for changes in the process of education and teacher training in our country are presented.
