Summary/Abstract: This paper proposed a multidimensional evaluation model based on various dimensions of port performance by integrating the expectations of all stakeholders and aimed at evaluating the overall performance of the commercial port of Sfax to identify the strengths and weaknesses in the port network with a view to improve the port service. To assess the performance, measurements must be taken for all dimensions: commercial, operational, financial, organizational, social, civic, stakeholder relations, value-added services, interconnections of intermodal infrastructures and integration practices. Each of the dimensions of port performance is expressed through several items that constitute the performance criteria. These items were also selected based on the literature review and the comments collected during the interviews with port stakeholders. These criteria were then structured around the factors identified in a principal component factor analysis (PCFA) based on the responses to a questionnaire submitted to the port stakeholders. Therefore, this article focuses mainly on the empirical aspects related to our problematic where we will examine econometrically, using the Tobit model, the positive impact of the various dimensions of port performance on the global performance.
