Summary/Abstract: The generation of representatives of the Age of Enlightenment in Transylvania and their precursors continue to amaze us with brand new revelations discovered in libraries and archives, original creations that preoccupy nowaday’s researchers of this Transylvanian cultural phenomenon. The writings of the representatives of the Transylvanian School represent the cultural DNA of all the Romanians regardless of the region, not only of those living in Transylvania. The school of Blaj, founded by Inochentie Micu Klein, genuine cultural capital city of the Romanians during the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries, had a major contribution, through its scholars, to the foundation of institutions of utmost importance to the Romanian people. It also supported the education in all the areas inhabited by Romanians through the scholars that have brought the ideas and the spirit of this city. A relevant argument for the fact that the scholars and the books related to the Transylvanian School are still valid is illustrated by the book we have chosen to focus on this current paper – Viața lui Ioan Budai-Deleanu (The Life of Ioan Budai-Deleanu). This approach is legitimate because its author, the researcher Mihai Mitu, devoted his entire life to this book, from the moment he started his PhD thesis research about Budai-Deleanu that he defended in 1971, up until 2017 when he published this book, a few months before his death. Therefore, we have here the result of a long-term meticulous research that completes the biography of the most open-minded spirit of the Romanian Age of Enlightenment, the author of the only complete epic poem in our literature up to the postmodern epic poem of Mircea Cărtărescu (Levantul – The Levant).
