The origin and influence of the "Red Chodzież" myth on the local community - from the inception to the outbreak of the Second World War

Summary/Abstract: The present article aims at present the so-called “czerwona Chodzież” myth (the myth of the red city of Chodzież) which occurred in the 30 and consisted in a phenomenon of Chodzież citizens' attachment to left-wing political ideas. It presents a deliberation over issues concerning the functioning of the economy and of local authorities. It also attempts to explain how the two forces mentioned above had influenced the development of the "Leftism" and political awareness of citizens.
