Summary/Abstract: Review of the publication Kuchařová, Věra a kol.: Česká rodina na počátku 21. století. Praha: Sociologické nakladatelství, 2019. 300 pages, ISBN 978-80-7419-275-3 (The Czech Family at the Beginning of the 21st Century) Review of the book The Czech Family at the Beginning of the 21st Century published by the Sociological Publishing House and co-edited by the Research Institute for Labour and Social Affairs. Based on complex data, the authors of the book attempt to describe what constitutes the Czech family today and the various risks they face. They also address affordable housing for families and issues surrounding the education of children. Although the publication is diverse in terms of its content and is both interesting and readable, it is principally an anthology that lacks both an overall view and a comprehensive evaluation of the findings of the researchers. In this sense, therefore, the aim of the authors to describe the living conditions, relationships and needs of the Czech family was only partly fulfilled.
