Summary/Abstract: The new information technology which invades the teaching process must be put to good use and used in a controlled manner, since the availabilities they supply for the teaching-learning-assessment process can endow teaching methods with superior quality and success in the teacher-learner collaboration. The first difference between the traditional learning environment and the computer-enabled one that influences class development is the background, in which teaching activities take place. We are talking about a shift from sitting at desks and working in a physical environment (classrooms, laboratories, etc.), to a virtual space and to the existence of online study-units. In this context, the element holding a new potential for teaching is the internet, which more easily and rapidly makes learning materials available, by means of the permanent interactivity that it brings into the teaching process, allowing real-time communication between each learner and the teacher (tutor), as well as the permanent monitoring of learner activity.
