Summary/Abstract: The French referendum (May 2005) represented for the French citizens the opportunity to debate the Europeans issues. We used this debate to analyse the European Parliament representation and to question the divisions that shaped the public sphere and that the European Parliament can use to show itself as a political actor of the public sphere.
