Summary/Abstract: Fănuș Neagu was born in 5 of April, 1932 in Grădiștea, Brăila county and his complete name is Fănică Decebal Trifan Neagu. His childhood was full of joy and happiness and this is the first period during which the storyteller is formed thanks to the mother and the grandmothers who told him a lot of stories. He spent first school years in his native village and after that he gets a student in Iași, in Military High School. During the Second World War the high school has been moved in Cîmpulung Muscel and few years later the school was abolished by the Communists. He began to publish in 1954 with the story Dușman cu lumea (An enemy with the world), but his editorial debut was in 1959 with the volume of stories named Ningea în Bărăgan. In almost four decades of activity - between 1954 and 2004 - he wrote over ninety stories, five novels, four theatre pieces and a lot of football charts. Political realities of Romania failed to transform him in a writer serviced by the communist regime, even if others choose this way.
