Summary/Abstract: During the communist period, Romanian Theatre stands under the sign of politics, not the philosophical as in free countries of the world. In these conditions, the connecting with universal theatre techniques is quite difficult. Fănuș Neagu, important writer of the 60s generation, achieves such a synchronization with the universal theatre. Although known more as a prose writer, not as a dramatist, he is able to create original plays, in which the dramatic leans on the narrative and the lyric with which they mutually borrow techniques and procedures. He creates an original dramaturgy, populated by atypical dramatic characters with a complicated existence, consciences in a dazed state. They are amazing characters, who impose themselves through their colourful, metaphorical speech and their capacity for self-delusion.
