INVESTIGATION OF SAKARYA AYÇİÇEĞİ BICYCLE VALLEY IN TERMS OF TOURISM

Summary/Abstract: In this study, bicycle tourism is handled from a recreational point of view, and the Ayçiçeği bicycle valley and its surroundings, which is the second in Europe and the only one in Turkey, are examined within the scope of bicycle tourism. The Ayçiçeği valley, which has an important potential in terms of bicycle tourism in Sakarya province, is examined and other recreational tourism activities that the tourists who come to the region for bicycle tourism can do in an integrated way are examined. In this context, the researcher aims to examine and analyze the documents related to the region by observing the region intermittently. As a result of the observations and document analyzes made, it is stated that the region has important advantages and attractions in terms of bicycle tourism, and that the tourists who come to the region within the scope of bicycle tourism have the capacity and infrastructure to carry out activities related to other recreational tourism types in an integrated manner. As a result of the study, suggestions are made to increase the potential for bicycle tourism of the Ayçiçeği bicycle valley and other tourism activities that visitors will want to realize in an integrated way.
