Activities that can favor the development of spatial sense and geometric thinking of elementary school students

Summary/Abstract: Understanding of space and geometric thinking are some of the important human abilities useful for everyday life. The development of spatial sense and the development of geometric thinking are inseparable from learning and teaching geometry. According to van Hiele's theory, students develop their geometric thinking through appropriate activities and progress through the levels. The paper presents several activities that can improve the development of spatial sense and geometric thinking of elementary school students.
