Summary/Abstract: Cooperative learning is a personal and social training tool that offers the student the opportunity to learn to know himself, to know his limits, to develop his leadership skills, to assume responsibilities towards others, to say openly points of view, but also to listen, analyze and accept the ideas of others. Creating learning situations in which students discuss, analyze, evaluate, specify their way of thinking, discussing and listening, is a goal of cooperative learning. Based on these skills and a strong self-confidence, they can build their future. Research on group activity has shown that grouping students and asking them to work together does not lead to superior results. In such a situation, students with low results evade the task and are content to copy from others. Students with very good results dominate the discussion and the others turn into mere spectators without having equal chances of participation. Other phenomena generating inefficiency at the group level can be improper division of tasks, dependence on authority, the presence of destructive conflicts.
