Summary/Abstract: The paper develops the theme of selling and producing food products in Arad County. In the first part of the paper it is presented the present economic situation of Arad County. In the second part of the paper there are presented the companies which act in the area of food production and commercialization and the economic indicators that are used by the CCIA Arad in establishing the top of the best firms in Arad County for the year 2006. After these it is treated the theme of food safety reglementations in the European Union with the last directives and guiding lines.
