Cohesion Policy and a new paradigm of regional policy in Poland

Summary/Abstract: In the European Union, a programming period of years 2014–2020 meets particular challenges, for example: deep changes provoked by global economy, internal changes in social-economic structures of the European Union, crisis of global economy and crisis of euro area. The cohesion policy of the EU in years 2014–2020 gains a new dimension and tasks. The discussion on its shape is in this situation particularly difficult. There is a deeper relationship between cohesion policy and regional policy, although both benefit a new, territorial dimension. New paradigm of regional policy in Poland is in accordance with directions of changes in EU cohesion policy.
