Cohesion policy accomplishment based on offshore wind farms development in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is the analysis of the offshore wind power development in order to reach cohesion policy targets. The paper is divided into three parts. The introduction treats about the main objectives of cohesion policy of 2014–2020 which one of these is climate changes and energy. In the first part the authoress focuses on convergence, in the second on the elevation of competitiveness of regions and the employment. In the third part the European territorial cooperation is introduced. Offshore wind power plays a key role in the EU energy policy having enough potential for meeting ambitious energetic and climate targets. The main conclusion of the paper is that offshore wind power development is compatible with the aims of cohesion policy.
