Summary/Abstract: This paper provides a generic view on governance. The view is created by exploring governance literature from different fields as politics and economics; presenting the main features of governance systems; and making comparisons between them. The paper argues that international, multi-national, national, regional, and corporate governance systems co-exist and reflect the rule of power at each level. Further possible research directions are presented.
