Adequate and transparent wage reform. SWOT analysis

Summary/Abstract: The reform of adequate and transparent wages at EU level has been identified as a key pillar for ensuring decent working and living conditions and for building fair and resilient economies and societies. However, as our analysis shows, the implementation of such a reform still faces major challenges, both institutional in terms of the diversity of national minimum wage regimes and levels, and economic and organisational, which may have negative consequences if not addressed effectively and coherently. Against this background, this article aims to analyse European policies on adequate and transparent minimum wages and their usefulness in the current context, especially at the national level, assessing their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges.
