Summary/Abstract: The Bosnian state is an interesting example of shaping the ethnic identity of the three nations inhabiting it (Serbs, Croats and Muslims). The issue of the institution of executive power is directly determined by the state-building process, especially in the context of its differentiated perception by the three main nations inhabiting the Bosnian lands for centuries (both of the Yugoslav state before 1918, in the conditions of the socialist Yugoslav federation and in the process of shaping a separate statehood).
