Summary/Abstract: Peas are a major protein crop for many countries around the world, including Bulgaria. The pea yield is determined by a number of abiotic and biotic factors. For the conditions of our country the main abiotic factors limiting the production of peas are water deficit and low temperatures. This review presents summary information on the characteristics, genetic control and test methods for breeding materials for water deficiency and low temperatures.
