Summary/Abstract: Established on October 1, 1896, in Cernavodă, under the nameof the 5th Hunter Battalion, the 5th Hunter Regiment changed its garrison several times. In the spring of 1907, he participated in calming the spirits in the Craiova-Ploiesti region, later acting as a guard at the Royal Palace in Sinaia. The beginning of the Great War found the unit in Craiova. It was the first unit of the Romanian Army that entered Alba Iulia on December 6, 1918.At the beginning of the Second World War, the 5th Hunter Regiment was garrisoned in Timisoara and participated in battles both on the Eastern and Western Fronts, until the date of its disbandment, November 26, 1944.
