Summary/Abstract: The careful research of the lexicon of the New Testament allows not only linguistic conclusions, but can lead to the revelation of subtleties of an ethical nature, which we sometimes do not perceive during a superficial reading. The textual occurrences of the words in the lexical-semantic field of the notion of old age are usually marked negatively from a stylistic perspective and rarely positively or neutrally. Ethically, old age is a heterogeneous concept, which often involves a resistance to anything new, to the change, to other values than those already assimilated, traditional ones.
