Summary/Abstract: For those advocating Islamic principles, teachings, and practices, conveying the content of these values authentically and appropriately is crucial. Equally significant is the form, demeanor, appearance, and public impression they convey. The public image of an imam, preacher, educator, or instructor, particularly within the mosque or maktab classrooms, influences not only their individual popularity and reputation but also paints a distinct and recognizable picture of the Islamic teachings they promote. This, among other factors, affects the interest of other Muslims and beyond, in understanding, respecting, and applying Islamic principles and values. This paper aims to underscore the importance of the identity of imams, as well as the public image they hold, emphasizing the necessity for imams to transition from being passive subjects of communication to proactive and strategic influencers of public opinion. This shift contributes to a better understanding of their role in society.
