Summary/Abstract: In the article, I intend to use the Romanian anthroponym IONELA, in memory of our colleague Ionela Duduță (1977-2022), to undergo a detailed linguistic analysis. Starting from the respective etyma, Hebrew “Yahweh“ (“God“) and “chanan“ (“to favor, to be gracious“), I follow the formal and semantic development of the anthroponym and its variants in Romanian, but also its possible equivalent(s) in German. The quantitative evaluation of the name also plays an important role here.
