Spatial transformations of forest-field villages in the present area of Lesser Poland Province

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of preliminary research into spatial changes in forest-field villages in the province of Lesser Poland. The aim was to show the spatial transformations of forest-field villages from the Middle Ages to modern times. The first part analyses the genesis of these villages and defines their morphological characteristics. The following section discusses the spatial transformations that took place in the surveyed villages in the interwar period. Finally, the contemporary forms of forest-field villages are presented, together with a distinction of their layout transformations.
