Summary/Abstract: The exhibition of Czech and Slovakian prints held in Sofia in the late 1940’s was a new in a row and the last major artistic event of the first half of the twentieth century in the field of Bulgarian-Czech cultural relations. It was a significant event in the history of Bulgarian art studies, as it proved to be the last chance for Bulgarian critics to approve of, though carefully and with reservations, an official public show of free creative will right before the establishing of political censorship in the early 1950’s in this country.
