Investment activities in the economic slowdown period on the example of entities operating in the tourism sector and cooperating companies located in

Summary/Abstract: The article assumes that entities operating in tourism sector located in rural communes operate as micro enterprises dependent mainly on the level of purchasing power of the Poles. For that reason the period of economic slowdown to a lesser extent adversely affects their actual operation. The self-assessment of the financial standing showed that the entities running business activity consisting in the provision of accommodation and catering services were characterized with better financial standing than the cooperating entities. Furthermore, the results of the research confirmed the assumed thesis that part of those entities made investments in the years 2009-2011, which shall be assessed as taking advantage of the slow down period in order to increase the competitiveness of their business.
