Summary/Abstract: Empirical field research was conducted in urban and rural areas of Serbia in the period from 2014-2016, with the aim of defining the peculiarities of the school and extracurricular model of learning to play the accordion. In this paper, the social organization and content of teaching/learning to play the accordion is considered, and the sample of the study consists of 30 subjects, one half of whom works in the school model of teaching, and the other half in the extracurricular model of teaching. The author’s intention is for the conclusions of this and subsequent researches to develop into possible guidelines for the future creation of the competencies of teachers who are involved in teaching accordion playing.
