Summary/Abstract: From the preamble, it is imperative to state that the main objective of the present theoretical analysis is not the realization of an apologetic of scientific knowledge, nor of common knowledge. The primary goal of the elaboration of this theoretical-investigative approach is based on the presentation of a short exegesis regarding the two forms of knowledge, emphasizing the manner in which these two forms of knowledge represent and interpret the problem of deviance as a social dysfunction. As we shall see, common sense and scientific reason are two distinct processes by which collective cognition and representations are embodied and preserved. At the same time, I will try to capture the idea that the two ways of interpreting reality also possess elements of complementarity particularly useful in configuring a plausible interpretation of deviant behaviors.
