Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the changes taking place in the Polish vocabulary over the twentieth century. The author describes lexemes with the suffix -arium, e.g., fokarium, żółwiarium, and she confronts her observations with the results of Bogusław Kreja’s research dating back to the 1990s. Finally, the author presents arguments that support the recognition of the discussed formations as a sign of temporary popularity and a manifestation of a specific trend in the contemporary Polish language.
