Summary/Abstract: Cantabile and Presto for flute and piano is a representative work of Enescian composition. The work was very successful from the moment of its appearance. The simplicity and elegance of the first Cantabile part merge with the complexity of the Presto. The influences of Wagnerian music, Romanian folk melos and French compositional style, form a triad that gives rise to a refined, elegant but also energic and exuberant sound statement. Enescu really uses the influences and motifs taken from the authentic Romanian folk in the dynamic part- Presto, where the writing becomes complex, the dynamic plan wide, the syncopated rhythms being well marked and highlighted by both instruments, protagonists in the reproduction of the musical artistic message - the flute and the piano. The soloists have an important role in rendering and decoding the entire message. Good perception of the work, the technical and interpretative qualities being decisive in the correct decoding and transmission of the statement.
