A Study of the Presentation of the Effectiveness of Public Libraries in the Technological World. The Services, Access and Possibilities for Communication with Users Presented on the Websites of Public Libraries

Summary/Abstract: The study analyses the results of a survey on the presentation of information about services, access and means of communication between users and public library teams, on and through the library websites. An extensive review of preselected headings and sub-headings from the websites is made. The project covers all regional libraries in Bulgaria. The study is complemented by examples from similar sections presented on the websites of foreign public libraries of the same size and type and with the same tasks. Based on the quantitative and content analyses of the collected data, as well as on the comparisons with good practices from European public libraries, some conclusions and recommendations are offered to improve the presence of regional libraries in the Internet space and the presentation of their effectiveness through their websites.
