Summary/Abstract: The roots give us legitimacy, stability, and strength to move forward and embrace the future. These "roots" refer to the Romanian Institute of Administrative Sciences, established nearly 100 years ago. Initially named the Institute of Administrative Sciences of Romania (ISAR), the name was later changed due to new regulations. In 2023, the annual conference addressed the themes of responsibility and accountability in public administration and life. Responsibility is seen as the adherence to rules and internalization of laws, while accountability involves facing consequences for antisocial acts when these rules are broken.
